Why should I give my pet supplements? Isn't good food by itself enough?
Even with the best quality, balanced diet, nutritional supplementation is necessary to provide many nutrients now missing from our food chain. Years of over-farming, the use (and abuse) of chemicals, fertilizers and various environmental pollution such as acid rain, have taken their toll. Even organic farming cannot guarantee that the produce will be more nutritious, as it will take approximately 75 years for lost nutrients to return to the soil. Many pets have physical ailments and weaknesses requiring additional nutritional support for symptom reversal. Also, years of over-breeding has left many fine breeds genetically predisposed to certain conditions. With proper supplementation, these pets can lead healthy happy lives.
Do you make a product to help with my pet's ... allergies? Arthritis? Valley Fever? FUS? Cancer? Hairballs? Diabetes? Chronic Infections? Mange? Urine crystals? Bad Breath?
In addition to Dr. Newman's foundation supplements for basic health, we have proven products and protocols that address all of these conditions and more. For the fastest, most detailed answers to your questions, please contact our Product Support Specialists today!
Are your products suitable for my ... cat? Dog? Ferret? Horse?
Absolutely! Our products aren't just for cats or just for dogs - our products can be beneficial to cats, dogs, ferrets, birds, and horses. Heck, we even have a couple of products that we've recommended to reptile owners (e.g., lizards and snakes).
How do I get my finicky pet to take this stuff?
Obviously, supplements work best when your pet actually takes them! Of course, that's often times easier said than done, but that is when we need to be "pet parents".
Not everything that is good and necessary for your pet is going to taste terrific, so here are some delivery suggestions to help the medicine go down easier: Azmira Holistic Animal Care canned food formulas, chicken broth, tuna juice, and apple juice.
How long should I use {product} for? When will I start seeing results?
The duration of usage and the amount of time to when you should start seeing results is going to depend greatly on your pet's existing diet and current condition. In general, we usually start seeing symptom improvements within 1-3 weeks; however, it's not uncommon for pets with more chronic or serious conditions to take a little longer to show symptom improvements.

What exactly is the "cleansing response" and what should I expect?
The cleansing response is the process in which your pet's body begins releasing the toxins that have built up in their system over the years. With regard to expectations, those will vary by individual pet according to their age, diagnosis, lifestyle, severity of symptoms, etc. Some things your pet may experience: increased shedding, panting, sleeping and excessive water drinking all the way to loose stools and self-fasting. Not every pet will have outward signs of the cleansing response however.
Can I use more than one extract or supplement at a time?
The short answer is yes. However, Dr. Newman's Holistic Animal Care LifeStyle® is a systematic approach to optimal health; therefore, we strongly recommend the use of certain product combinations based on proven effectiveness. If you are unsure about the exact usage of the product(s) you currently have or need more specific recommendations for your pet, please contact our Product Support Specialists.
My pet has parasites, do you make a natural parasite-control product?
Yes! Not only do we make and sell natural parasite removal supplements (e.g., Giardia & Parasitic D'Tox and Herbal Wormer), but we also sell products to help with ensuring that your pets remain parasite- and pest-free (e.g., Neem Spray and Para*Clear).
Where can I buy your products? Are they available at Petsmart or PetCo?
Due to the nature of our products and our basic philosophy, we do not sell any of our products through the chain pet supply stores or any of the big box stores (e.g., Walmart). Azmira Holistic Animal Care products are sold in a variety of independent retail stores, veterinarian clinics, and through numerous on-line retail websites. If you are unable to find a retailer in your area or would prefer to order directly from us, please contact us and we'll make sure to get you and your pet taken care of.
I just bought your {product}, where is the Lot Number and Expiration Date?
Because of the wide range of products we sell and the various packaging styles of our products, this information is located in different places.
The expiration date and lot number for our canned foods are stamped on the bottom of each can; the expiration date and lot number for our dry foods are stamped on the back of each bag (top right or bottom right, depending on the size); the expiration date and lot number for our supplements, topicals, herbal extracts, and homeopathic remedies are located on a sticker on the bottom of each bottle.
What is the shelf-life of your products?
Assuming you store our products in a cool, dry location ... our canned food is good for 3 years from date of manufacture, our dry food is good for 1 year from date of manufacture, our topicals, herbal extracts, and homeopathic remedies are good for 4 years from date of manufacture, and our supplements are good for 2-3 years from date of manufacture.
Your products seem a little more expensive than some other brands, why?
Both quality ingredients and mass national marketing cost money. A lot of money. As most pet product companies are single-mindedly focused on spending an obscene amount of money on the marketing side of things, we remain focused on putting our money back into using top-quality ingredients for all of our 150+ products.
As you've no doubt witnessed, all of that glitzy marketing works ... it really does, we're not going to pretend it doesn't. Sadly though, it is the customer and their pet(s) who ultimately lose out in the end. No matter how slick the commercials are or how shiny the packaging is, it all comes down to what is inside, and the stuff that they're selling is not what they're promising.
As a result, most pet parents spend the life of their pet(s) jumping from one brand of food to another in hopes of finding a brand that actually delivers on their promise. Well, you can stop jumping now, because our products work as promised. Comparatively speaking, our Holistic Animal Care LifeStyle® is actually less costly than a lifetime of symptom chasing and allopathic care.
No one I know has heard of your company, so why should I trust you and your products?
This kind of goes along with what we were saying in the answer above - we don't spend millions of dollars every year on TV / print advertising, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, or logo-emblazened trinkets that are just going to end up either in someone's junk drawer or trash can.
We prefer to put our money, time, and energy into using top-shelf ingredients for our products, educating our customers, and continuing Dr. Newman's original vision. We've been in business for 30 years, our results are reliable and repeatable, we've NEVER had a recall on ANY of our products, and our customers are longtime and loyal.
We like to think those are good reasons to trust us and our products.
How can I learn more about the proven methods of helping my pet naturally?
Dr. Newman is the author of nine books on the topic of natural pet care, so you can of course find more information within those books. Additionally, several articles, in a variety of publications, have either been authored by Dr. Newman herself or written about her findings, products, and methods over the past 30 years.
And finally, for those who really want to dig all the way into natural pet care, we offer self-paced Holistic Animal Care LifeStyle® correspondence courses (two levels). If you would like additional information about our correspondence courses or any of Dr. Newman's books or articles, please don't hesitate to contact us today.
Is Azmira short for anything? Where did your name come from?
Yes, Azmira is actually short for something else! During Dr. Newman's early years, people often referred to her expertise and formulations as the AriZona MIRAcle.
